Migrant Offshore Aid Station (MOAS) 2017

In 2017, Chris volunteered with the Maltese Charity, Migrant Offshore Aid Station (MOAS) as a Rescue Swimmer for 3-weeks. The role required him to form part of the 3 man Search and Rescue (SAR) team and to respond to migrants in distress off of the coast of Libya. There were numerous rescues conducted each day, with boats carrying between 100 - 400 people in need of rescue. Unfortunately not all could be rescued.
