Deadly Floods and Landslide, Donja Jablanica, Oct 2024

On 4th October 2024, a tragic landslide and flood destroyed a village in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A team of United Kingdom Emergency Service workers were nearby and volunteered to go to search for survivors.

After many discussions between the British and Bosnian authorities, it was agreed, we would be sent by the British Government.

Members of the team remained on site for 3 days, and unfortunately despite their best efforts, only bodies were recovered.

In total, 19 people sadly lost their lives.
